Nestle Poster - 1920

The posters designs for Wrigley gum during the early 1900s were very simple and to-the-point. They all utilized the complementary colors of red and green against a white background with a tint of red in it. Their main slogan, "The Flavor Lasts", is directly under the brand name and a little bigger than the other catchy words on the poster. The other short, yet informative type includes "Chew it after every meal" and "Sealed tight...Kept right..."

  1. Great Job thus far! I believe the color choice for the packaging of the chewing gum was a marketing gimmick. See the color green is the color of giving. Which means that, the person buying the gum would feel more confident in his or her choice. Furthermore, the color red is the color of passion and excitement. What this means is that, the person buying the gum would feel not only confident in buying the gum, because of the green color, but now he or she would have a sense of excitement of buying the gum, due to the red color. Now when we put these to colors together on a white background, all three colors tend to compliment each other. Thus making the product seem user friendly.
